The first thing you will notice about the Canon RF 24-105mm f4-7.1 is just how tiny it is compared to other RF mount lenses. Measuring in at only 3.02 inches (when not extended) and weighing 0
The RF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM, often sold as a kit lens with camera bodies, is a good option that combines a generous zoom range with a constant f/4 aperture rating. The newer RF 24-105mm f/4-7.1 IS
Next-generation image stabilisation allows hand-held photography at shutter speeds up to 8 stops² longer than normal without camera shake. This kit comes with an RF 24-105mm F4-7.1 IS STM standard zoom lens, which is ideal for everything from landscape photography to portraits and photojournalism.
RF 24-105 f4-7.1 is small and inexpensive and very very good. its the Honda Accord of lenses. the decision to invest in the RF 70-200 f/2.8 was easy because i did not have an EF version of that zoom.
Pairing the RF 24-105 f4-71 lens with the R10. I'm looking for a better shading coverage than the hood made for this lens since it effectively start at 38mm on a APS-C body. So I was wondering if the hood for the RF35 is compatible so I can order it ? That would be the perfect option if the bayonet mount fits.
It goes on sale at the end of August 2020 for $2499 for the body only, and $2899 as a kit with the RF 24-105 F4-7.1 IS STM lens. You can also buy the Canon R6 as a kit with the RF 24-105mm F4 L IS USM lens for $3,599. Other Canon lenses announced this morning include the Canon RF 100-500mm F4.5-7.1 L IS USM, Canon RF 600mm F11 IS STM, Canon RF
RF 24-105 F4-7.1 RF 100-400 F5.6-8 RF600 F11 RF 800 F11. Not a bad line-up of low cost lenses, missing only a 20 / 24mm prime and a wide angle zoom. BTW I own the 35, 50 & 85 was well as the higher end RF24-105 F4 and will be getting the 16 and 100-400 to round out my needs. The 35-150 f2-2.8 that you mentioed is USD1800.
I would rather drop 3k on 3 great primes than 3k on a massive and heavy one, and the likes of the 35 f1.i and the 85 f2 etc just don’t motivate me to spend any money. For that reason I stick to the 24-105 f4 for general purpose, and the 50 f1.8 stm for lower light shooting. For the latter I would preferred something like the 50 GM from sony
